Day 2

Anyone who has cycled in Devon will have noticed its really, really hilly. I mean, really hilly.  You may have even noticed if you have driven there....  So this day, by common agreement by everyone who has ridden LEJOG is one of the toughest.

It didn't disappoint but the day was made easier (its a relative term) by a helpful Southwesterly wind, and another great days weather.

Marvelous Devonshire countryside
Of course, the fantastic countryside offers plenty of diversion.  We made good time reaching Holsworthy (25 miles) for morning tea and excellent cake and Winkleigh for lunch at The Kings Arms. (45 miles )

We followed the Chawleigh road to Tiverton,  arriving a little after 5. As it was a little early to check in to the B&B an early dinner and pint seemed a good call.

Lunch stop

Checked at the Hornhill Farmhouse which I highly recommend, apart from the incredibly steep hill up to it, but then, if you are driving that is going to be a whole lot easier...

Distance covered. 72 miles
